MESSAGE
Except by miracle, it is impossible for cocoa three to produce banana. The memory scripture today says, you get what you sow.
Inside aircrafts, you are seated and served according to the class you paid for. You pay for VIP class, you will be served with food as a ‘VIP.’ Over there, the cabin crew would ask you to place your order according to your likes. But in the economy class, you will be served with a packaged economized food that is meant for people that know how to economize their money. They serve you what they have for you, not what you like. Today’s Bible text says, Lazarus sat daily at the gate of the wicked and uncaring richman, and was been fed with crumbs that fell from his house. According to his story, Bible says, he was been carried to heaven by angels when he died. This means, he was a believer. But, a believer with wrong mindset. Maybe, one of those that believe, working to have material possession in life is equal to carnality.
Lazarus was a believer with a myopic mindset. Do you think my interpretation of his character is wrong? Ok! Read Luke 16:21. It says, Lazarus by himself, desired to eat fallen crumbs. He got what he bargained for. And got what he was given because of his location.
Listen to me, in life, your position or where you position yourself determines what you will be given or what would be positioned before you. The gate you are seated is a great determinant factor of what will fall to you or will be given to you. Lazarus was fed with crumbs [the food meant for dogs], because he positioned himself at the gate of an unbelieving richman. He sat at the gate of the class of folks Jesus refers to as dogs. And this made him to be fed with what dogs should eat. Read Mark 7:25-28.
But, in the other way round, the Lamed man at Beautiful temple gate chose a rightful place and positioned himself. And he got healing bread from the table of God. Jesus told that unbelieving woman in Mark 7:27 that, the healing she asked for belongs to only the children of the kingdom. He said, it is not meant for folks that are regarded as dogs {unbelievers}. And the woman accepted she belonged to the dog folks. But further pleaded to eat crumbs that fell from the table of the children, which is, food for dogs. Imagine, this same food for dogs is what Lazarus, a righteous man settled for. What a pity! The man at Beautiful Temple gate’s case was not like of Lazarus. He got healing to his wound, the lameness. But Lazarus till death, didn’t get healing to his sores. Reason is their positions. Let me ask you, where do you position yourself? The gate you sit, or focus on in life determines the table you will eat at. Jacob said, “..this is none other but the house of God, this is the gate of heaven Genesis 28:17b.” The lame man got more than what he expected because he positioned himself at the gate of the house of God. But, Lazarus whose name means “who God helps,” didn’t stay where he could have received help from God. That’s why he resulted to food for dogs.
PRAYER

  1. Thank God for today’s devotional.
  2. Oh God, in anyway am wrongly positioned, reposition me.
  3. I refuse to eat crumbs.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND IN JESUS NAME
