SPIRITUAL MEAL FOR GROWTH IN HIS PRESENCE DAILY DEVOTIONALBy: Apst. Bamidele E. OJO SUNDAY: 24th NOV. 2019 THEME: WHEN YOU LIVE CONSISTENT PRAYER LIFE TEXT: 2 Chron 7:12-15 *MEMORY VERSE: Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months {James 5:17} *MESSAGE:Prayer is a powerful weapon to combat and prevail over any trouble, battle that might confront a man. Prayer is a channel, a powerful tool to harvest or receive one’s desire from the Almighty GOD. Whoever knows how to communicate to God in prayer will always prevail, and have control over any negative confronting situation of life. In Genesis 32, Bible says, Jacob prevailed over his struggles of life while he wrestled with God in prayer. This means, for any man to prevail over any confronting situation of life, he must go beyond the normal gentle type of prayer to wrestling in prayer. Listen to me, you can be in charge, you can be in control of the natural and the supernatural if you know how to bow down your kneel to God in prayers. But, for your prayer to produce to you your desired result, it must be an effective and earnest prayer. Our text says, when Solomon prayed continuously in the temple, God appeared to him by night. And gave him assurance of answer to his prayed prayers. The memory verse for today is an assuaring statement that persistent and effective prayers can make a man to be in control over the natural and the supernatural. It says, “Elijah is a man subject to like passions as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain three years and 6 months.”Abraham was another great example of a man that used prayer as weapon to achieve his aim. In Genesis 20:17, Bible tells us that when he prayed prayer of healing to God concerning Abimelech and his household God answered him, and did as he requested. God said in the 14th verse of today’s text that He will always hear, heal and forgive us- His people which are called by His name if we call upon Him in prayers. This implies that, God only listens and hears the prayers of who belong to Him. When you consider the memory verse, it makes us to understand that Elijah, being a man like us, faced challenges that pressurised him and his ministry. The Bible reported that he prayed earnestly that it might not rain for three years and six months. And according to his word, no single rain dropped. Not because he was only a prophet, but because he also knew the power and potency of prayer. Praying earnestly means praying seriously. James 5:16 {Amp} says, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man avails much.” So, for your prayers to work, it must be from your heart with serious concentration and persistence. That is earnest prayer. Stop taking prayer as child’s play. Take prayer very serious. Show me a man that takes prayer serious and I will show you somebody that will naturally command results. If the prayer of Elijah could control the climatic condition of a nation, your prayer equally can control your family, community, individual, organization and situations. As you decide to make your prayers earnest, result will begin to hit everything that has to do with your life positively in the name of Jesus.PRAYERS:

  2. Father, I receive the baptism of prayer.
