TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-20

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints” {Eph.5:1,3}*

*MESSAGE:**Few days ago, we started this topic by pointing out the image, the likeness of who a fornicator, or an adulterer is. Base on Genesis 1:26 to 27th, every creature is carved in the image, likeness of our God- the Creator. The word image broadly means: {i} An imitation, representation, similitude. So, every creature should be an imitator, representation, or have behaviours that are similar to attributes of God. {ii} Image means: A visible presentation; a copy; a likeness; a picture; a semblance of. So, as God images, we are supposed to be visible presentations, copies, pictures, semblance of God in characters, in our desires, in urges. {iii} Lastly, image also can be defined as representation of anything to the mind; an idea. So, every human behavioral attitudes should be pictures of God’s behaviour to the eyes, to the mind of all. Hence Christians are people believed to be followers of God’s image, likeness, our behaviors, lifestyles should be like of God as stated according to what the word image is. Christian lifestyles should portrait true image of who and what God is. Their life should not be a mockery, insults to the name and the personality of who they proffes they belong to. Our lifestyles should be an idea of how, what God will if He were to be here physically on earth. Just this past Tuesday, I returned a bag which contained certain reasonable amount of money with a professional photo camera, and other items we picked in the front of our Church to the owner. I even went extra length to trace the owner through his bank via the A.t.m card we found along other items in the bag. Since there wasn’t any other means to trace the owner. We Christian must truly practice what we represent. Just as verse one of Ephesians 5, our memory scripture says, Christians should be followers of God in characters, in behaviours. Someone said that ‘a Sinner is not a Christian, and a Christian is not a Sinner’. As engraved by the verses in our topic text, hence fornication, adultery are sexual sins, and they are labeled as sins that are against human’s body which is supposed to housed the Spirit of holy God, this means Fornicators, adulterers are not Christians, and no true, real Christian can be a fornicator or adulterer. Just as we stated in the series one of this same topic, every organisation, every establishment has rules and regulations which guide them. And everyone who belongs, or is under such an organisation is automatically binded by those rules and regulations. So is every true and real Christian binded by the law of holiness. I mean absolute holiness, purity. Moreover, God said: “Be ye holy; for I am holy” Leviticus 11:44, 45; 1 Peter 1:16. So, whoever claims he or she is a Christian is in other word saying he/she is a follower of God. And he or she should be holy. Such a fellow should depart from these two sins of sexual immorality- fornication and adultery. Because, they are great iniquity that easily keeps God’s Spirit, presence far away from man. Second Timothy 2:19th warns: ‘depart from iniquity if really you are named in the name of God’. As Christian, be a follower of God as Ephesians 5:1 says. And that should be in purity, in holiness, and in having the mind of God as it was in Christ Jesus our Role Model, who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith- {Read Philippians 2:5; Hebrews 12:2}. God bless you as you act as warned!

1. Thank You Lord Jesus for this message.

2. Thank You Lord for atonement for my sin.

3. Lord Jesus, I confess to You now that I am a fornicator, an adulterer. Forgive me Lord. From today, I surrender my life to You. Be my Lord and my Saviour. In Jesus name I pray. Amen! *GREAT AND SAFE DAY TO YOU AND ALL YOURS!*
